Acharya, Ira
Lion Ira joined DLEC in 2008 and is involved in Women Empowerment Division. She has many years ofprogressively responsible experience in project Support, office administrator & program management fields related to poverty reduction and livelihood development for disadvantaged communities in Nepal.
Prior her arrival in US in March 2006, she worked as Enterprise Development Specialist in DFID/UK government of Nepal's Rural Access Programs. Before that, she was district level of program manager in UNDP/government of Npal's Micro enterprise Development Program. She received her Master Degree in Economics (1987) from Trivuban University, Nepal. She completed the post graduate research-oriented study in "Women's Work" (2000) from the International Women's University "Technology & Culture" / University of Hannover Germany.
She has traveled India, The Netherlands, Germany, France, Luxembourg, Belgium, Spain and presented research papers in various international forums. She brings a rich wealth of her experience in community empowerment and likes to contribute this experience for the society under the vision, mission, purpose & ethics of the Lions Clubs International. |

Adhikari, Badri Nath
Born in Duradanda, Lamjung, Nepal, Dr. Badri N. Adhikary obtained doctor of agriculture degree from Japanese university. He also has diploma in Japanese Language. After obtaining doctorate degree he worked for about 15 years in Japan as an expert consultant and provided consulting services for agriculture and rural development projects in Japan, several African, South and Southeast Asian and Eastern European countries. His major clients were government agencies, private companies and international non- governmental organizations. He is fluent in Japanese language. He migrated to the US with his wife Gayatri, daughter Smriti and son Ashwin in 2005 and operates his own business. He joined Everest Lions Club in October 2009. Lion Adhikary is one of the founding members of Nepalese Democratic Forum, Texas.

Aryal, Rajesh: Past President
Lion Rajesh Aryal joined DELC in the year of 2003 as a founder Secretary. He became the president of the club for 2005-2006. He did his Bachelors’ degree from University of Texas at Arlington majoring in Management Information System. He has gained a wide range of knowledge in the field of business, as he has been involving since 2001. He is also a member of Nepalese Democratic Forum, Texas. Mr. Aryal is interested to contribute in social work.

Bajracharya, Makar: 1st Vice President(2009-2010)
Lion Makar Bajracharya did his MBA from Tribhuwan University with concentration in International Marketing & Marketing Research. He joined DELC in May 1st of 2004. He took the responsibility of Tail twister in 2005-06 and of Treasurer in 2006-07. He is highly experienced in accounting as he worked for FMCG Company in Nepal for 10 years. Currently, he is working for UPS Supply Chain Solutions in Texas. His hobbies include traveling and playing table tennis. He is married and has two sons. As a part of his social involvement, he was actively
involved in various local clubs in Palpa and Baglung in Nepal. He participated in “Nepal-Canada Youth Exchange Program” in 1989-90, which was organized by Canada World youth and Social Council of Nepal. During that program, he volunteered three and half months in various social organizations in Canada and the same duration in remote villages of Nepal.

Bastola, Khem
Lion Khem Raj Bastola is also an active lion in our club. He has finished Certificated Level in Automobile Engineering from Tribhuvan University (TU) Kathmandu, Nepal. He has Bachelor Degree in Diesel Locomotive from Institute of railway transport Lelingurad, USSR.
He served Nepalese government in different positions over 12 years in many cities in Nepal; and worked for private sectors for more than 5 years in Nepal. Lion Bastola is a Life Member for Association Overseas Technical Scholarship (AOTS) Tokyo, Japan.
He visited Russia, Japan, France, England, Netherlands, Finland, Germany, Belgium, Holland and India. Currently, he is a resident of Irving TX since 2005 with his wife Uma, and two sons Prayash and Praveg.

Bhattarai, Shashi: Immediate Past President(2008-2009)
Arrived in the USA on Feb. 9, 2004, Lion Shashi Bhattarai was born in Jaleshwor, Nepal. He did his Bachelors in Arts & Culture from Tri-Chandra College, and his MA in Culture from Tribhuwan University. Lion Bhattarai is very much fascinated in literature as he likes to read and write. He spent 15 years of his career as a lecturer in Nepal. He was a lecturer in Mahendra Bahumukhi Campus, Nepaljung for 7 years; Mahendra Morang College,Biratnagar for 6 months; and 6 and ½ years at Ram Swarup Ram Sagar Bahumukhi Campus, Janakpur. He has been serving as a Tail Twister in DELC for 2006/07. He is also the Vice President of Nepalese Democratic Forum, Texas.

Chhochoon, Ajaya: Charter President (2002-2003)
Lion Ajaya Chhochoon did his Masters in Economics from Tribhuwan University, Kathmandu, Nepal and worked as a lecturer at Sarashwoti Multiple Campus, Tribhuwan University for 19 years. He migrated to America in 1999 and joined Irving Evening Lions club in 2002-03 Lions year. In the United States, he worked as a Substitute teacher for Dallas ISD almost for 3 years and then he worked as a Life Insurance Agent for several years in Dallas. Within a short period of time of his arrival in the United States, he founded Dallas Everest Lions Club (DELC) with help of Irving Evening Lions club and a team of Nepalese friends in 2002. It has become the first Lions club in the United States formed by Nepalese community. He severed as a Charter President of DELC in 2002-03. He has also served as a District Chairman of Youth Exchange for District 2X-1 from 2004 to 2006 for three consecutive years. Mr. Chhochoon was also nominated as JC HYER YOUTH CAMP DIRECTOR, and he was honored with a responsibility of Zone chairman for 2006-07 of District 2X-1.

Dulal,Shiva
Lion Shiva, one of the founder member or DELC. He was born in Kaleshwor, Lalitpur, Nepal. He is married and father of two children. He has a B. Com (Bachelor in Commerce) from Patan Multiple Campus, Nepal. Lion Dulal involved in travel industry for 10 yrs in Nepal and founder of Lalitpur Youth Club. He loves volunteer and philanthropy works.
Lion Dulal came to USA in 1999 for further education and achieved practical theology from CFNI in 2003. He joined at Irving Evening Lions Club firstly, then founded the first Nepali Lions Club in the USA with support of Nepalese community as well as districts officers. Lion Dulal is still a active member of DELC and valuable asset for our club.

Gyawali, Rudra: Member
Lion Rudra Gyawali is an executive member of Dallas Everest Lions club since 2003. Born in Thanapati-9, Thorga, Gulmi, he did his schooling from Ridi High School and higher education from Tribhuvan University. His Professional career began with Accountancy under Financial Comptroller General of Nepal. Right before coming to the United States, he was Audit Officer in Office of the Auditor General of Nepal (OAG/N), an oversight agency for Government Financial Accountability. During his tenure in OAG/N, he participated in various national and international trainings, workshops, and seminars and has gained diversified experiences in auditing and administration management. He was a member of Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nepal. At present, he is working for a company for living and building career in Accounting and Finance.
Besides being involved in Lionism, Lion Gyawali is equally involved in other activities of Nepalese community. He is involved in the Management Committee of Nepalese Language and Culture School, Irving; and International Nepali Literary Society, Texas Chapter. He has been actively participating in various activities of Nepalese Society of Texas as well. Having soft but straightforward in nature Mr. Gyawali believes in simplicity and positive attitude as a source of happiness. His hobbies include traveling and listening soft music. Now he is living in Irving, Texas with his wife Kamala and two school going children Anima and Apil.

Kaphle, Shiva: Ast Secretary (2009 - 2010)
Born in Palpa district of Nepal, Lion Shiva Kaphle holds two bachelors degrees: one in Commerce and other in Law. Mr. Kaphle has a happy family with his wife Gita and a son Arpan. His job career started as a teacher. Later he worked for commercial bank of Nepal for 18 years. He also has 10 years of experience as an auditor in Nepal. He founded Lila memorial library at Buddhikot, Palpa in 2006 in the memory of his late mother Mrs. Lila Kumari Kaphle. He worked as an executive member of “Employees’ Union” in Nepal. As a part of his hobby, he was highly involved in “Palpali Sangam” in Kathmandu, “Noor Ganga Prativa Puraskar Guthi,” “Dalit National Feedration,” and local clubs at Buddhikot, Palpa.

Karki, Smriti: Member
Lion Smriti Karki completed her MBA degree from the Philippines and then earned a degree in Master’s in Professional Accounting from The University of Texas at Arlington. Currently she is pursuing CPA licensing requirements. Lion Smriti has always had keen interested in philanthropy and other social work. Her involvement in social and community service dates back to her high school days at St. Mary Convent in Nepal. She perceives lionism as an effective mechanism to fulfill her strong desire to reach out to the needy people of this world and help improve their lives. Lion Smriti is ever smiling personality.

Lamichhane, Krishna, President (2009- 2010)
Born and raised in Namjung-6, Gorkha, Nepal then moved to Dallas in 2002 with his lovely wife Mala and two little daughters Kritima (10) and Ichcha (7). Currently, he is in Salon and Travel business in Irving, TX.
Lion Krishna Lamichhane joined Dallas Everest Lions Club in 2004. He is one of the active and dynamic youth leaders of Nepalese community in DFW metro area. He has an impressive vision and outstanding contribution to the society through the community outreaches activities in education and cultural preservation.
He completed his master’s degree in Accountancy from Trivuban University, Kathmandu, Nepal. His professional career began with working as a managing director for Nepal Vision Treks and Expedition and the Mt. Manasul Adventure. He also served as a president in association for Tourism Board, trekking agents association of Nepal, Gorkha Tourism, Gorkha Samaj, Everest International Group and many more local bodies in Nepal. He is one of the founder member of Nepalese Democratic Forum and Nepali Jana Samparka Sameeti in USA.
He visited Germany, Austria, France, Italy, Holland, China, Tibet and India in order to disseminate tourism information about the Natural beauty Sanctity of Nepal.

Pokhrel, Ram: Past President (2004- 2005)
Lion Ram C Pokhrel joined DELC as a Charter Tamer in 2002, and he served as a president of the club in 2004/2005. At present, he is an adviser of DELC. In addition, he has been serving as an Environment Chair of District 2x-1 for 2006/2007. He is dedicated to serve the community, and he wants to become a pragmatic lion to fulfill the motto “WE SERVE” of Lions international.
He has completed MBA degree and worked as an Administration/Finance officer in Federation of Community Forestry User Groups back in Nepal in 1996. In addition, he was managing a private school named Venus Public School in Nepal as a founder. Lion Pokhrel has also involved in Everest Media USA in Texas as a News Editor/Reader. He is blessed with his sweet heart Sirjana and a baby daughter Shreeya. He is interested in reading, traveling, and maintaining public relation.

Prasai, Chandra: Member
Lion Chandra Prasai has completed his Bachelors’ degree in Engineering from Madras, India. He is a very soft-spoken, and he loves to help Nepalese community. He enjoys writing, listening music and being with his family. His message to the Nepalese people living in Dallas/Forth Worth is "try to protect and preserve your culture, never forget your culture, and try to be a faithful person." After spending one year and a half as a programmer, he is currently working as the president of Everest Media USA, Texas.

Poudyal, Mahendra: Immediate Past President (2007-2008)
Lion Mahendra Poudyal completed his bachelors’ degree in Computer Science from New Delhi, India, and worked as a computer consultant for several institutions, including Save the Children USA in Nepal. He launched a website named VisitNepal.com in 1997 that would help Nepal to tap its tourism potentials and would help millions of people around the globe to get up-to-date, accurate, and authentic information on Nepal. This website was recognized by Time Magazine in 1999, 2001, and 2003. He is currently the CEO of VisitNepal.com. He migrated to USA in April 2002. He joined Dallas Everest Lions Club on June 2004. He has served as a secretary of Dallas Everest Lions Club twice since 2005 to 2007. He was nominated as an Information Technology Co-chair of Lions Clubs International, District 2X-1 for 2006-2007. International President's Certification of Appreciation is awarded to Lion Mahendra during the Lions Year 2006-2007 in recognition of distinguished achievements in fulfilling the service mission of Lions Club International. He has also received a District Governor Appreciation Award in recognition of his outstanding support of the District and the goal of the district Governor of District 2X1 (2006-07). Lion Mahendra and his wife, Pushpa, have two sons Prashant and Susant. His hobbies include listening music, traveling & learning more about human psychology.

Suraj Poudyal is one of the active lion in our club; he joined the DELC in 2008. He has Bachelor of Business Administration from University of Central Oklahoma majoring Management Information System (MIS). He believes in positive attitude and hard working. He likes the Lions motto “We Serve” very much and says Move to Grow. He is currently working as a Network Support for Muratec America in Plano and he is also holding a Real State license for both commercial and Residential. He is living in Mesquite with his lovely wife Michelle and son Ryan. |
Ranjit, Sarju: Past President (2006-2007)
Lion Sarju Ranjit was born in Golmadhi, Bhaktapur, Nepal. He did his high school education from Sharada Secondary School in Bhaktapur, and Bachelors degree from Tribhuvan University, Kathmandu, Nepal. He has completed his MBA from Amberton University in Texas. Believing in hard work, truth and humility, he is a keen follower of Mother Teresa and Gandhi. Lion Ranjit’s hobbies include help needy people, go for sight-seeing, read books and spend with family. He further elaborates about his life as he says "I have four priorities in my life: God, family, career and social service. Joining Lions Club has partly fulfilled one of my main priorities of my life." He is married with Kamal Laxmi and has a son Him Shrinkhal.

Shakya, Shoyambhu: 3rd Vice President (2009-2010)
Lion Shoyambhu Shakya was born and raised in Dhulikhel, Nepal. He did his high school from Sanjiwani Higher School in Dhulikhel, I.Sc. from Amrit Campus, and B.Com from Shankar Dev. His American life began in 1996 landing in DFW airport to pursue higher education. In the year 2000, he earned his bachelor degree in MIS and in 2004 Masters of Business administration (MBA) from the University of Central Oklahoma. Lion Shakya works for a reputed telecom company in Dallas area as a Database Administrator. His hobbies include web/graphics design, listening music and drawing. He is married with Kamala and has a 4-year-old son.

Thapa, Sabindra: Treasurer (2009-2010)
Lion Sabindra was born and raised in Kathmandu, Nepal. He is an alumnus of University of Central Oklahoma since December 2004. He is holding a Bachelor Degree in Management Information System (MIS). After spending 6 yrs of academic years in Oklahoma, he moved to Dallas for his bright career in January 2005. Currently he is working at IT Staffing Company in Irving, TX.
He wants to describe himself as a detail oriented and “Out-of-the-box” thinking person.He is interested with all sorts of ideas of life as long as it makes sense & don't want to keep himself with any bracket at all.
Lion Sabindra always been fond of Philanthropy and social activities. His hobbies are listening music, travel new & exciting places, sports, regular workout and philosophy.
